New York City, March 29, 2024 - :iidrr Gallery is proud to announce its upcoming exhibition titled "Organic Beings," curated by Yuan Xu and featuring the extraordinary artworks of Puxuan Zhou. The exhibition will run from March 29th to April 7th, 2024, with an opening reception on March 29th at 6 p.m.

The "Organic Beings" exhibition explores the intricate fabric of contemporary societal boundaries, where individuals often yield their independence to navigate within constrained freedoms. This prolonged exposure gradually erodes the essence of individuality, obscuring the delicate realm of subconsciousness where profound emotions lie dormant and forgotten.

Spanning a diverse spectrum from traditional art forms to sculptural expressions, "Organic Beings" transcends into virtual realms, embarking on a transformative journey through immersive landscapes. Puxuan Zhou's artistic vision seeks to unveil the raw authenticity veiled behind societal masks, using varied mediums to evoke suppressed emotions and weave intricate narratives of human struggles and unspoken emotions.
Within this framework, compromises often resonate with a sense of exploitation, shaping perceptions and molding identities. Zhou's artwork serves as a catalyst for introspection, encouraging viewers to rediscover their genuine selves and delve into unexplored emotional territories. This exhibition beckons a profound exploration of subconscious realms, fostering a deeper connection with authentic emotions and a nuanced understanding of the human condition.

Artist Bio:
Puxuan Zhou, born and raised in Tianjin, China, discovered his passion for art at a young age, following fundamental drawing and painting practices in his youth. When his journey led him to the United States at 15, he continued to cultivate his artistic voice. Now based in New York, Zhou combines his fundamental fine art philosophy with emotion, aesthetics, and contemporary art elements. Having been granted his BFA degree at Parsons School of Design, Zhou’s work has been exhibited at Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Gallery in 2023.

Curator Bio:
Yuan Xu is an artist, sculptor and curator based in New York. She graduated from Parsons School of Design for her BFA Degree. As an artist, she attempts to explore inherent connections between landscape, the human body, and perception through fiber, metal, and other integrated materials. Xu’s works have been exhibited in New York, Shanghai and Beijing etc, and her participating projects were selected into The 9th Chengdu Design Week and A4 Art Museum. Her sculptures were collaborated with multiple fashion photography projects such as Comme des garçons F/W22 collection X Dover Street Market New York, Feroce Magazine cover page May Vol.4 2020. As a curator, Xu dedicates to balancing the sensational experience of the audience and the expression of artists’ identity with aesthetics. She has curated for independent artists and galleries in New York and Chengdu.
